Going to Honduras!

I am beyond excited to be a part of the team that is going to Honduras with "Rice Bowls". If you are not familiar with this organization you need to check out their website www.ricebowls.org. They support over 50 orphanages all over the world.

I just love how God works. I have always had a vision of my business partnering with another organization to help in big ways. I had a vision of doing art with kids from all over the world and teaching them about the love of Jesus at the same time. If you have been following me you know that about year ago I was even in the running to win a "Ticket to Give" with TOMS. I thought that would be a great springboard for me to learn how to effectively partner a business with a charity. Little did I know God had even cooler things in mind. When we partnered with "Rice Bowls" my art students immediately got excited with me. All our little P'zazz artists began collecting change and then we had a big ole bowl breaking party that you can see HERE. Through collecting change and then selling a few of our Art Tees ( see about that here) we have been able to provide over 6000 meals for these sweet kids.
You can imagine my excitement when Rice Bowls called and invited me to go with them to one of the orphanages AND lead an art camp!!!! Ahhh!!
So you see... while I thought the TOMS trip was what I wanted, now I get to go to a place that my students and all of you in the P'zazz family have helped personally. I get to connect with kids who I will personally continue to support. This is not just a one time meet you and leave you type trip. This is the beginning of developing relationships and friendships with kids across the world who need our help. This is the beginning of being able to use the platform of P'zazz to encourage others to use what they have , where they are, to help others.

We will be doing several fundraisers at the studio but if you are not local and want to help or maybe you just want to be a blessing with your finances then you can make a donation to help fund our trip here www.ricebowls.org/return-funds in the blank where it asks for you to list an "Organization" just type in "Kasey Hope Honduras trip". We still need to raise about $2,000. Plus, if you leave your contact info I would love to send you a special little "Thank you" art print designed by me.

You will be able to follow our journey every step of the way right here on the blog or on our facebook page! Thanks so much for being a part of this with me!!

Reflecting on 2013 and Moving Forth!

It was great to spend the past few weeks at the beach. The weather was beautiful and because it's not peek season it felt like we had our own private beach. As always I was able to do a lot of reflecting and thinking about the past year and what I wanted to do this coming year.
2013 was definitely a year of experimenting. Wow! I didn't realize how many BIG things I had attempted. I knew I had been restless in my creative life but geez.I..
1) dabbled in licensing ( only scratching the surface though)
2) created an online class for kids
3) franchised P'zazz
and
4) developed a product line with our fine art apparel to benefit Rice Bowls

Each of those would require full time attention if I really wanted to go forth with those in  a big way. So I have decided that 2014 is not going to be another year of restlessness. I am going forth with ONE dream until God closes the door. If he continues to open the then I will walk through them.

I am going to give this licensing business a go. Who knows if it will work out. I know it will be hard and a lot of work. But it also excited me in the same way that the idea of P'zazz excited me when I was first getting started. I didn't know if P'zazz was going to catch on or if anybody would sign up. But I knew it excited me! I had so many ideas and knew I could pour into kids and use my art. I still feel that way about it and it's been a huge blessing. With licensing I am so excited about it, have tons of ideas, and know I can make a difference in this world using my art.

I felt such a peace when reading " How to Listen to God" when it said that sometimes restlessness was God's way of getting your attention. When I read that I quit feeling bad about having this constant feeling of "what's next" and instead of trying to get rid of it.. I am embracing it.. listening to God because I believe it's from him. He is prompting me towards the next place he is leading me.

Can't wait to see where it is!

This is a little of what I did at the studio tonight.. Next up will be a whole collection around this piece!
